After renovations, we opened our doors in 2012 with a modern, sleek and open floor plan.
Located just two blocks off of the Carrollton Avenue streetcar line, The Cannery offers secure, off-street parking as well as handicap accessibility.
Imagine walking into a grand foyer with walls splashed in your wedding color palette, your brand’s colors, or a custom design. After passing through the foyer, you’ll enter our expansive ballroom, set up any way you could imagine — from rows of chairs lined up for a motivational speaker to large round tables covered in flowers and bling…
+ anything your mind can envision, we can make come to life.
Located in the heart of Mid City, The Cannery was built between 1965-1970 and was the warehouse space for the American Can Company until it’s closure in 1988. The American Can Company consisted of a complex of six buildings in total that were designed for the manufacturing of steel cans.
After the American Can Company’s closure, the site sat dormant for 9 years until Pel Hughes Companies purchased the warehouse in 1997 to open a new location for their growing print and direct marketing company. Pel Hughes Companies leased the space to a convention service provider until opening a new business in 2006, Floor de Lis.
Once Pel Hughes Companies realized the space could be better utilized as a venue, The Cannery was born. After renovation, in June 2012 the space that had served so many others was redesigned into a high-tech, modern and luxurious venue.
The Cannery is now a premiere New Orleans wedding and reception venue, and serves other events such as company holiday parties, corporate conferences, business meetings, and luncheons.
